MIL-STD-810H Environmental Testing
Test methods
MIL-STD-810H is the U.S. Department of Defense standard for checking whether equipment holds up in the environmental conditions it will meet during its service life. Laboratory test methods simulate altitude, temperature extremes, humidity, vibration, shock and immersion, and each test is tailored to the product's real use profile. The standard is applied well beyond defence, across aerospace, UAV, marine, automotive and industrial products, as the benchmark for ruggedness and reliability.
EWVTA performs in-house MIL-STD-810H testing:
-
Method 500.6 Low Pressure (Altitude) <11.6 kPa
-
Method 501.7 High Temperature up to +170 °C
-
Method 502.7 Low Temperature down to −70 °C
-
Method 503.7 Temperature Shock
-
Method 507.6 Humidity
-
Method 512.6 Immersion
-
Method 514.8 Vibration 5–3000 Hz / <50g
-
Method 516.8 Shock <250 g
Tailored testing, not a checkbox
MIL-STD-810H is not a pass/fail certificate. Each method is tailored to the environments your product will see over its life: storage, transport, operation and mission profile. "MIL-STD-810H tested" means little without the test levels behind it. We help you define those levels and document them in a test plan, so your results stand up to customer and procurement review.
Who needs MIL-STD-810H testing
Defence and dual-use equipment suppliers, UAV and drone manufacturers, and aerospace subsystem makers. It is also widely used for rugged electronics, marine and vehicle-mounted equipment, and for any product sold with a ruggedness claim.
